White pride groups in the US are vowing to hold another rally in Virginia despite last week's hate attack in Charlottesville which left a woman dead.

She was killed when a man drove into a group of counter-protestors at a far right gathering last week.

1News correspondent Rebecca Wright told Rachel Smalley hate groups appear to be more energised than ever.

"They're also vowing to go back to Virginia. A Confederate heritage group has already applied for a permit to hold another rally there, on the 16th of September."
