After four years hosting Early Edition, Rachel Smalley signed off this morning for the final time. 

Over her time at Newstalk ZB, and throughout her 20-year career as a journalist, Rachel has championed a number of important issues.

The Syrian conflict and the refugee crisis was close to her heart, as seen through her Forgotten Millions campaign which saw her travel to the Middle East to report on it from the ground. 

There have been some lighter moments as well, thanks to the unpredictability of guests and the odd bout of syphilis. 

Through the highs and the lows, Rachel has been a true wonder woman, one who will be sorely missed.
