Paul Singer: Trump's first overseas trip created confusion

Donald Trump's first overseas trip as President has only created more confusion about America's role in the world.

That's according to USA Today's Washington correspondent Paul Singer.

Trump himself has labelled the trip a home run, however, his refusal to commit to the Paris climate agreement during the G7 summit in Sicily has frustrated world leaders.

Singer told Nadine Higgins the trip raised more questions than answers but says Trump did score a few points.

"We don't know exactly where he is on this topic or any topic, he tends to be swayed by the last conversation he had," he said.

However he said Trump clearly made an effort to reach out to Muslim countries.

"He clearly made his big effort in Saudi Arabia reaching out to Muslim nations saying that we need an united front against terrorism," he said.
