The Government and mayors all around the country are teaming up to try to get more young people working.
Four government ministers with relevant portfolios have signed a deal with the Mayor's Taskforce for Jobs.
They'll try to sort out projects and initiatives to help the one in eight young people who aren't in employment, education or training.
Chair of the Mayor's Taskforce, Otorohonga Mayor Max Baxter, told Kate Hawkesby it'll result in better outcomes than working on their own.
"We can actually sit down, talk with the ministers who have signed this MoU, and see how we can work together on policy-making level to ensure we're doing the best within our districts."
