A voluntary euthanasia campaigner says an inquiry into the issue has dispelled a number of alarmist myths.
The Government's two year inquiry attracted 22,000 submissions.
Around three quarters were AGAINST legalisation.
Matt Vickers - whose late wife Lecretia Seales took her right-to-die battle to the High Court - told Nadine Higgins the inquiry has picked holes in many of the arguments raised by euthanasia opponents.
"What the report did was dispel some of the myths that had been presented by opponents, things like loss of trust in doctors, things like increased suicide rates. They were completely unfounded."
Mr Vickers says the report made no recommendation on whether or not voluntary euthanasia should be legalised.
