At least one Peru fan isn't buying the assertion early morning fireworks and military flyovers affected the All Whites' game in Lima.

The team missed out on the last place in next year's World Cup, losing the qualifier against Peru 2-nil.

Coach Anthony Hudson has expressed frustration at tactics used against the All Whites.

Football blogger Brian Bertie told Rachel Smalley

'He was in Mexico four years ago and they used the exact same tactics. The fact that he didn't research that people were going to be hostile is just an excuse."
