The coalition of Iraqi and Kurdish forces is closing in on Islamic State's last stronghold in Mosul.
They're aiming to totally surround the city before mounting a final assault.
But there's growing evidence from within Mosul of civilians being gathered up, to be used as human shields.
CNN's Michael Holmes reported: "These are women, they're children, they're the elderly. Some of them, we're told, are in poor condition. They're basically trucked in and just dumped in the middle of the city - no water, no food - and they're basically just told to go find somewhere to stay."
