The deadline for the latest Islamic State ultimatum in their demand for a prisoner swap has passed.

Jordan's indicated it's willing to release convicted would-be suicide bomber Sajida al-Rishawi if ISIS releases Jordanian military pilot Moaz al-Kassasbeh. .

However former Navy Seal Daniel O'Shea says it's unclear what's happened with the swap at this stage.

"Regardless of what happens with the prisoner swap if it's even still on, ISIS is winning. This hostage terrorism works and we can only expect more of it in the future."
