Serious concern in Italy over the threat of the Islamic State.

International relations expert Rod Alley says there's a lot of religious heritage in the country that Islamic fundamentalists might not agree with.

And he says the Italian government is aware how close they are to IS strongholds.

"They're concerned that the ISIS jihadists might start exploiting their very fundamentalist Islam across the Mediterranean and start to attack Christian sites."
