A man described as the grim reaper of Germany's autobahn network has finally been caught - five years after he started shooting at truckers.

He's turned out to be a fellow driver who held a major grudge against his highway-hogging peers.

He mainly shot at and ruined shiny new vehicles on car transporters, but one bullet went clean through the neck of a motorist, seriously wounding her.

Police trawled through hundreds of thousands of licence plates to nab him.

They counted more than seven hundred shot trucks between 2008 and 2013.
