Maria Sharapova has made a stunning return to grand slam tennis.
She's beaten second seed Simona Halep in three sets in the first round of the US tennis Open in New York.
Sharapova hadn't featured at a grand slam since last year's Australian Open and has only played once match since May due to injury.
"To come into a match like this and to perform the way I did and just put everything behind me, I think that's what I'm most proud of."
ASB Classic champion Jack Sock has been the biggest casualty to date on the men's side of the draw.
The American 13th seed has lost in five sets to Australian Jordan Thompson.
