A new survey shows most farm worker salaries are holding firm, despite tough industry conditions.

Federated Farmers and Rabobank have released their latest employee remuneration report.

In the dairy sector, average salaries for farm workers have increased by five percent to around $40,000.

But Federated Farmers Dairy Chair Andrew Hoggard says workers are unlikely to see a similar rise next season.

"What puts it in perspective is obviously everyone will have set salaries at the start of the season. Whilst we thought it was all good, and of course once you sign a contract it's all good, I'm guessing for next season we probably won't see much in the way of rises."
