The Opportunities Party formally launches election campaign

Labelling themselves the "geeky party", the Opportunities Party has formally launched its election campaign this afternoon.

A crowd of about 50 gathered to hear Gareth Morgan explain he does not mind who leads the Government - because TOP will be part of it.

He said all National and Labour do is bicker about ideology. He said those who campaign to go from blue to red or from right to left are like a bunch of kids arguing over who has burnt dinner.

Gareth Morgan believes his party will get 10 percent of the vote on election day - and hit 30 percent within five years.

It is the first time all the party's 20 candidates have been in the same place.

Mr Morgan expects to have up to 25 list and electorate candidates by the time the election rolls around.

He said the point of it all is to make change from the bottom up, and he will work with any party willing to adopt his 15 policies.

Mr Morgan says he doesn't care about who is in Government, just about the policies and getting progress for New Zealand.
