John Key's refusing to answer questions about whether his embattled MP Mike Sabin will return to Parliament this year.

The Northland MP's at the centre of an assault allegation that is understood to have been ongoing since last year.

Police have refused to make any comment on the case - and John Key this afternoon answered media questions about his MP by repeatedly saying he had no comments to make.
