An Auckland MP has reached the North Pole on skis.
Hunua MP Andrew Bayly has trekked there with a team that includes his 20-year-old son.
He's aiming to raise at least $10,000 to prevent kokako becoming extinct in the Hunua Ranges.
On Facebook, Andrew Bayly said the last day of the expedition was overcast but the wind had dropped from the previous day and it was almost tropical at 0 degrees Celsius.
The group celebrated back at camp with Aurora Borealis cocktails, which are half champagne, half vodka and a handful of North Pole snow.
