The High Court has made a ruling over the controversial satirical election song 'Planet Key'.
Those behind it song writer Darren Watson and video designer Jeremy Jones went to the High Court in Wellington last year challenging the Electoral Commission's advisory that it was an election programme and advertisement.
The song featured verses about John Key's childhood in poverty and how he's now living it big with rich mates and the GCSB.
Its music video featured Mr Key playing a Maui's dolphin like a guitar with cameos by other National MPs.
Justice Clifford has ruled the song and music video isn't an election advertisement or an election programme.
