The Government's announced an advisory group will begin work on its planned overhaul of the welfare system.
The Welfare Expert Advisory Group will undertake a broad review of the welfare system, including current obligations and sanctions.
Overhauling the welfare system is part of Labour's confidence and supply agreement with the Green Party.
The review will take in everything, from considering the overall purpose of the system, through to specific recommendations on sanctions.
It will focus on ways to ensure people have an adequate income and standard of living, and are treated with respect and dignity.
Chaired by Professor Cindy Kiro, the group will report back in February next year.
