There have been claims that dirty politics hasn't affected New Zealanders, but the signatories to a crowd-funded campaign disagree.

2,100 people have signed a full-page open letter to send a message to politicians that 'dirty politics' is an important election issue.

The crowd-fund by campaign group ActionStation raised over $8000 for the letter and it'll feature in the New Zealand Herald this Wednesday.

Strong member support for the group and leftover funds will go towards a campaign for a Royal Commission of Inquiry after the election.
