The ACT Party says the Prime Minister should "see more" of the country for Waitangi Days in the future.
Bill English earlier announced he won't attend the annual powhiri at Waitangi's Te Tii Marae as his office was advised he won't be able to speak at the event.
He'll instead be celebrating Waitangi Day in Auckland.
ACT leader David Seymour wants to make this a trend, saying Mr English should visit a different marae each year.
He says Mr English could follow the path the Treaty itself took in 1840 when it was signed by chiefs around the country.
