Power is still out to a number of properties around Central Otago and Dunedin.
Heavy winds battered the region yesterday, lifting rooves, blowing down trees, and causing issues with power supply.
400 Aurora Energy customers remained without power overnight as a result of the storm.
Central Otago is affected, with around 300 customers still without power.
While in Dunedin, just over 100 customers remain off the grid.
Weather commentator Richard Green believes the unsettled conditions will continue.
"We could see some further gusts, perhaps not to the extent of yesterday, but a very warm and also strong nor-wester is likely to kick in overnight or tomorrow morning," he said.
