Aucklanders won’t have a boil water notice anytime soon but still need keep their water usage down.
Watercare says it’s been able to make incremental progress in the amount of water the Ardmore Plant can process, increasing production by 10 million litres of a water each day.
It’s pushing out the threat of a boil water but says the city still need to save 20 litres per person per day for the next 2 or 3 weeks.
Chief Executive Raveen Jadurum says if Aucklanders don’t do this voluntarily Watercare will have to enforce reductions.
He says he welcomes a full review of Watercare Auckland, following its inability to deal with flooding.
