A serious crash in northwest Auckland has left eleven people injured - one critically.
A vehicle travelling from Helensville crossed the centre line on State Highway 16, near Waimauku, and collided with a minivan - sending the van 20 metres down a bank.
The vehicle which crossed the centre line also veered off and hit another car.
Adults and children are among the injured.
One person is critically hurt and two others have serious injuries.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has been transporting people to hospital.
The crash happened between McPike Road and Woodhill Park Road, just after 6pm.
The highway is closed, with diversions in place.
