Hellers is recalling incorrectly labelled sausages after a Wellington teen went into anaphylactic shock.

A batch packaged as original Sizzler's sausages turned out to be filled with cheese.

Meaghan Robertson Serjeantson was sent into anaphylactic shock because of her severe dairy allergies.

"I started getting hives on my face, so I called Mum - as soon as she got here, I was having pretty bad breathing."

She was then rushed to hospital, where she was given "two shots of adrenaline".

Ms Serjeantson also needed oxygen, "because my oxygenation levels were pretty low," she said.

The 14-year-old has since recovered.
