The Government's being told it's not doing enough to target foreign drivers flouting our road laws.
The accusation's being levelled by New Zealand First MP Dennis O'Rourke after authorities took steps against five Chinese men accused of fake and borrowed licenses to drive tour buses for Christchurch based company Alps Travel.
Mr O'Rourke says lives are being put at risk because the Government persists in ignoring tourist drivers using false documents to drive on our roads.
He says a soft attitude is allowing overseas visitors to have an almost cavalier approach to driving here as they know, even if they cause a horrific accident, they'll get off with a comparatively light sentence.
