UPDATED 9:56am: The Civil Aviation Authority's agreed with a coroner's report - partially blaming it for the the death of three men.
The 2008 crash over Paraparaumu killed James Taylor, David Feilding and Bevan Hookway.
A report released by a coroner says the CAA should've acted on a 1996 safety report that identified risks at the airport.
Director Graeme Harris says while dated, recommendations made by the coroner are reasonable.
"There certainly valid and a reasonable representation of the events at the time and causes and so fourth."
Trish Hookway's son Bevan was one of the three men killed, and she says the report addresses the concerns of the families.
She says recommendations to improve the monitoring of small airports is comforting, and she's confident it'll go a long way to preventing a repeat.
