A Queenstown film maker is hoping to change the way people recycle.
Niamh Peren has launched a petition to the Government to help make recycling easier.
She wants to see all food and drink packaging labelled in three ways - a green thumb, a yellow thumb and a red thumb would be used to explain what can and can't be recycled.
She says by introducing a label system people will immediately know what can and cannot go into landfills and the recycling system.
She's hoping to receive more than 50,000 signatures on the petition.
