There's calls for New Zealand to take more refugees, particularly from Syria.
Thirty six international aid agencies have banded together to put pressure on the world's richest nations to help people fleeing the conflict in Syria.
Refugee Council spokesperson Gary Poole says we take 750 refugees a year .. but that number was set in 1987, so they're asking the government to increase it.
He says the government is currently focused on making sure refugees have good quality outcomes here, but the quota could still be nudged up.
