The man accused of killing stop-go sign operator George Taiaroa can now be named.
He is 45-year-old Taranaki man Quinton Winders.
Interim name suppression was in place until 4pm today, giving Winders a chance to inform family of the charge against him.
No appeal to extend name suppression was lodged.
65-year-old George Taiaroa was shot dead while operating a stop-go sign at roadworks in Atiamuri, north of Taupo, in 2013.
Quinton Winders will appear in the High Court at Rotorua in December.
