A cigarette butt could have started the fire that completely destroyed a Cambridge home last night.
Fire fighters were called to the empty house on Browning Street just after eight o'clock.
Cambridge chief fire officer Don Gerrand says the house was being renovated so was empty at the time of the blaze.
He says the fire could have been started by a cigarette butt or an electrical fault.
