Sony Pictures boss Michael Lynton says the Hollywood studio hasn't "caved in" by cancelling The Interview and still hopes to release the controversial film.
He's also hit back at US President Barack Obama's claim it made a mistake in pulling the movie, three and a half weeks after a massive cyber-attack blamed on North Korea.
Mr Lynton later told CNN the company had not given in but had persevered.
In a statement released a short time later, Michael Lynton says Sony is now looking at alternative platforms from which to launch the movie.
