A Motueka man's in custody after an Armed Offenders call-out to help a woman stabbed in the face.

Police were called about 6.30pm yesterday after neighbours intervened in a domestic dispute.

Police were told the man had access to knives and a gun - cordons were put in place until he was found and arrested just before 10pm.

The 37-year-old will appear in the Nelson District Court today, the woman was treated for her injury last night.
