The brains behind the 5+ A Day campaign are celebrating, a decade after the launch of Fruit in Schools.
A recent survey of principals has found nearly three-quarters of schools have found class concentration has increased since the programme's introduction in low-decile schools.
Nutritionist Bronwen Anderson says the findings certainly make sense.
"They're learning something because they're having something to eat and something that's well worth eating.
"It's got all the vitamins and minerals that you need."
Bronwen Anderson says the flow-on effect is many low-income households are now changing their shopping habits for the better.
