Workmates of a man accused of murder have described him as a friendly man who got along with everybody.
Bryne Permal is on trial with Shivneel Kumar over the 2013 killing of Shalvin Prasad, whose burned body was found on the side of the road in south Auckland.
A workmate of Permal has told the court he was handed an envelope with around $400 and a bank card inside in the weeks following the discovery of Mr Prasad's body.
He told the court he was given $300 from inside the envelope when he joked he would charge a fee for looking after it.
The court also heard from a man who worked at a Mobil petrol station on Great South Road, serving Shivneel Kumar at 10.30pm on the night the murder allegedly took place.
CCTV footage places Mr Kumar at the petrol station, and shows him filling two containers with 15 litres of petrol.
The Crown alleges Prasad was doused in petrol before being set alight.
Prasad's family left the courtroom as the woman who found his charred remains took the stand.
On the morning of January 31st, 2013, Sandra Campbell left her house around 6am with her dog Robert.
Ms Campbell told the court she saw smoke rising from the bushes, which she contemplated before realising it was a body and she needed to call the police.
