Christchurch Police are investigating fires in six wheelie bins and a garage, in the Burnside area overnight.

They say they're treating the bin fires on Westburn Terrace, Chevron Place and Greers Road as arson, along with the garage fire on Chevron Place.

It's the latest in a series of incidents.

Detectives are urging the perpetrator to come forward and talk before anyone gets hurt.

They are also asking for any CCTV footage, or reports of anyone acting suspiciously, around the Westburn Terrace, Chevron Place and Greers Road area.

Police are advising residents to keep their bins off the road and out of sight.
