A 20-year-old Christchurch man allegedly raped and blackmailed one of his victims using a video recording.

The Rangiora man appeared in the Christchurch District Court this morning after being arrested overnight.

Police are seeking more information about him.

The list of charges against him also include two counts of threatening to kill and two of unlawful sexual connection.

One of the alleged victims was just 12 years old.  

Police are asking anyone with information to contact police.
