A man is in Auckland Hospital with serious facial injuries after being shot early this morning.

Three men have been arrested following the firearms incident that took place in Panmure at 4.30am this morning.

Two of the men, aged 16 and 27, will appear at the Auckland District Court tomorrow facing firearm and wounding with intent charges.

A 47-year-old man has also been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and will appear at the Auckland District Court on a later date.

Detective Senior Sergeant Glen Baldwin said police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the shooting.

He commended police staff for their diligence in tracking down and apprehending the offenders within a short time-frame.
