Those accused of murdering Hutt Valley man Mathew Stevens faced anger from his family as they appeared in court today.

Stuart Wilton, Darrin Wilkie-Morris and Kelly Crook are jointly charged with murder of Mr Stevens, whose body was found next to his car on Paekakariki hill road last month.

The public gallery at the court was full of his friends and family.

As each of the accused left the dock, calls of 'scum of the earth,' 'look at what you did,' and 'shame on you' followed them.

All three have been remanded in custody until February, when they'll appear in the High Court in Wellington.
