Police are today back at the Upper Hutt house where a woman was killed as they search for answers.

A homicide investigation is underway after 30-year-old woman was found dead in her Ward Street home in Trentham early yesterday morning

Police are still searching for a group of three or four men.

Detective Sergeant Warwick McKee says the men were heard yelling and seen running away from the house.

He says they're appealing for them to come forward.

A police spokeswoman says a scene examination is continuing.
