A man is in police custody after the death of a woman in Papatoetoe.

Emergency services were called to a home in Cambridge Terrace just before seven last night.

The woman was found dead at the scene, though at this stage police cannot confirm the cause of death.

A man is helping police with their investigation, and they're not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident.

The scene has been in lock down, with an examination expected to start this morning.
