Six men have been charged after two maximum security prisoners were injured in separate stabbing attacks at Auckland Prison earlier this month.
The two prisoners were assaulted with makeshift weapons at the Paremoremo facility on November 12, with authorities blaming the attacks on gang violence at the time.
Police on Thursday charged five men with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in relation to one of the attacks.
Another man was charged with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in relation to the other assault.
They are scheduled to appear in the North Shore District Court by video link on December 15.
