An arrest warrant for rapper Scribe has been issued by Canterbury Police.

38-year-old Malo Luafutu failed to appear in court this morning, where he was meant to face various drug related offences.

He shot to prominence with his 2003 album The Crusader, which went 5 times platinum in New Zealand.

Scribe posted on Instagram in May, that he'd planned to spend the next three months in a rehab facility to fight his battle with drug addiction.

More to come soon
