UPDATED 5.35pm A 17-year-old charged over a violent carjacking which left a woman in hospital, is also charged with 14 burglaries.

Nancy Voon was dragged from her car in Panmure last week and bashed - suffering concussion, a broken bone in her face, chipped teeth and bruises.

Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Newman said a 17-year-old has been charged with aggravated robbery, theft and two counts of unlawfully taking a motor vehicle.

She and two males - aged 16 and 18 - have also been charged with 14 burglaries carried out in Onehunga, Mangere and Mt Albert.

The teen appeared in Auckland District Court today, while two other teen suspects, under 17, are currently in CYF care and are being spoken to.

Police say no one else is being sought.

The arrest comes after a video of the attack was spread around social media and view thousands of times.

The footage shows a suspected stolen red Honda Fit drive slowly around the Panmure car park where the woman was sitting in the passenger seat of her grey Toyota Corolla.

Two women got out of the red car and walk toward the victim's car, while a third person climbed into the driver's seat of their vehicle.

The victim was pulled from her seat and there is an altercation before she tries to run away and is followed by one of the women, who had something in her hand.

After the assault the two women got into the victim's car, but one got out to shove the victim, who was lying behind the car, out of the way.
The victim got up and ran for help as the two cars sped away.

Police said they had received dozens of calls and Facebook messages that led to the arrest.

It comes after a series of police searches of properties in Otara, Glen Innes, Papatoetoe, Clendon and Point England, that led to a number of other people also being arrested and charged over burglaries in Onehunga, Mangere and Mount Albert.
