A North Canterbury shop owner says Easter opening hours would be a huge boost - after a tough year post-earthquake.

The Hurunui District Council is today voting on whether or not certain stores will be able to trade over Easter with any changes coming into effect this weekend.

Cheviot Four Square owner, Sally-Anne Tull, says being able to supply campers coming through the town over the holiday weekend would be great for business especially as they're the only shop in town.

"Really sort of invigorates the town after what's been a pretty rough year, it would good to get it on track"
