There's a large-scale search in Christchurch this morning for a man who's been missing for the past two weeks.

Hayden Cossey hasn't been seen since December 5th.

Detective Sergeant Al Lester says a large contingent will begin scouring the Linwood area this morning.

The search team consists of specialist police search and rescue team members and volunteers who are police-trained but who voluntarily assist police with searches of this nature," he says.

Lester says police are keeping an open mind about what may have happened to Mr Cossey.

He was last seen at Eastgate Mall around 1pm on December 5th.

Mr Cossey had left work that morning, around half an hour after arriving at 7.15am.
