Twenty workers from freight company Toll Logistics have walked out this morning.
They make up 90 percent of the company, and are on strike for the next three days over wage disputes.
First Union organiser Jared Abbott said there are several cases awaiting hearing by the Employment Relations Authority, but the company keeps using tactics to avoid them.
Abbott claimed the cases included four employees underpaid by a dollar an hour for almost a year, and other cases of unpaid overtime.
Abbott said workers hope the strike might prompt Toll Australia and Japan to come over and investigate the situation in New Zealand.
