Retailers are preparing for the Boxing Day rush, as people get out to make the most of the sales.
A new record of 171 transactions per second was set during the Christmas Eve shopping chaos, following a week of high sales figures.
Paymark spokesperson Paul Brislen said Boxing Day presents another challenge for their systems, but it's unlikely to rival the pre-Christmas rush.
"It used to be the big shopping sale of the year but these days we've got quite a few of them, so it'll be quite interesting to see how much shopping is done."
