Fletcher Building has gone into a trading halt while it reviews the financial performance of one of its units, following two profit downgrades earlier this year.

The company has told stock exchange it's reviewing the financial performance of its Building and Interiors business unit.

It's also reviewing how that will affect its earnings guidance for the current financial year.

The trading halt should lift tomorrow, when the earnings guidance is due to be announced to shareholders.

The news comes hours after workers announced they'd be striking over a break down in pay negotiations.

The company will have it's annual general meeting tomorrow. A new chief executive is expected to be announced beforehand.
