Facebook says profit in the first quarter fell by 20 per cent from a year ago to $US509 million ($A660 million), but reported healthy growth in revenue and its user base.
The world's biggest social network said overall revenues jumped 42 per cent to $US3.5 billion, led by advertising gains, and the key number of monthly active users grew 13 per cent from a year ago to 1.44 billion.
