Police say the death of a man in the cells of an Auckland court doesn't appear to be suspicious.
The 36-year-old man died shortly after being found unconscious in a cell at Papakura District Court late yesterday afternoon.
He faced a range of charges, including breaching bail.
Counties Manukau Police District Commander Superintendent John Tims says early inquiries suggest there are no suspicious circumstances.
He says Police and the Independent Police Conduct Authority will investigate, and the Coroner has been advised.
