Auckland Council is being urged to think logically about potential speedway plans.

To allow for more events at Western Springs Speedway, Regional Facilities Auckland proposed forcing the Warriors out of Mt Smart stadium to turn it into a speedway.

But Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board Member, Ross Robertson is endorsing the call by Councillors Alf Filipania and John Watson to instead move the speedway to Colin Dale Park, near Auckland Airport.

Mr Robertson says utilising the park is a logical approach, keeping the Warriors happy and creating a speedway that allows proper flexibility for future development.
